Every once and a while i accidently open the email box from HELL.

Its the one i use to submit galleries, well when i used to submit galleries.

What happens you ask? Well theres at least 500 spam messages in there.

Usual suspects, sexually explicit mails. Phising scams schemes of various

natures etc. This blog has also been a great help in attracting lots of fraud

mother fuckers to my ICQ as well! I guess it costs to be unbought and

unbiased. Oh well FUCKEM.

And before i forget i need to send a big FUCK YOU to the TGP people

who are selling webmaster email addresses. And another big FUCK YOU

to the webhosts that allow unsecure scripts that hackers can swipe email

addresses from. And another FUCK YOU to the people that buy these

addresses and mail to them. And a super special FUCK YOU MOTHER

FUCKING FAGGOTS to the sponsors that pay these slimey sons of

bitches!

So there are people out there that think i came down with the last drop of rain. I honestly believe that, it’s the reason why i got 400 emails a day trying to sell me stocks. The reason i get 20 emails a day telling me my checking account with a bank i dont even bank with needs me to email them with sensitive information. I can only guess that it’s also the reason people ICQ me trying to sell me stuff. OK no problem here if you have a reputable site. But folks if you dont even have a web site and at least three or four reputable clients, dont bother me at all. PERIOD. I dont know you so i will not do business with you, especially if you don’t even have a site. How am i suppose to validate your services?

Why don’t sponsors have Blogs? Seems like they should be face first trying to tell us what goes on in their daily operations and how they are trying to make the world a better place for us money hungry affiliates. Why does it seem like everything has changed in this business except the aloof affiliate program owners, the majority are still clinging on to the assumption that they live in an ivory tower. I suppose its too risky for someone with a program to actually say how they feel. Oh well so much for Guts and Glory!

After digging around my domain name treasure trove i found another gem, cockcandy.com this little beauty is another one of my duh duh death defying attempts at a TGP. Let me pose a question, How much does it cost to get a new customer as opposed to keeping an existing one?

I have to tell you I wonder if anybody is actually thinking about the big picture, recently a software company was gloating about how many sales they have for their product. The number was indeed something to brag about, but I wonder how many happy customers actually exist for the firm.

I personally use their products, in fact just purchased another copy. I mean there was a big celebratory sale going on 10% now thats nice. I continue to use the product even though support for the product is not exactly what i consider top notch.

WHY?

I suppose it has to do with overall value. I never really thought about this untill now. The initial price of the product was low its feature set seemed pretty decent. A relatively smart script in my opinion although it lacks some of the power of the leading product in its field. That was a compromise i was willing to take, I figured what the hell its rumoured to work on sites doing over a million hits it has to be good!

Sure enough it is good, but there are just so many god damn quirks to using the thing that it damn near drives you insane. However to be fair this is to be expected for any product designed for our industry. (READ: We NEED More PRO Software Companies!)

I Digress. The issue is value, how much is the initial price worth to you if over the long term support is slow or worse ceases to exist. How many times have you purchased software just to watch that company go out of business all together? How much does lack of support cost you?

Afraid to say?

OK, I will go first. The total amount spent on derelect software for my company in the past five years exceeds ten thousand U.S Dollars. Certainly a lesson learned the hard way, wouldnt you say?

I love having my own business, its sorta the American dream you know? But the fantasy of it all grinds down quickly into grim reality. This business is dog eat dog, or if you prefer squirrel screwing squirrel screwing squirrel. Just when its all figured out the rug gets pulled, every day is an excercise in crisis management ( OK Im exagerrating it’s really every other day.) What matters most i suppose is that you call the shots for you!
